Pairing

What is pairing and why is it so important?

Simply stated, “pairing” is building rapport (i.e., a positive/enjoyable relationship) between the therapist and the client.  Pairing is important in that without quality rapport, desired progress will be minimal and slow at best. We at Pee-Wee’s Behavioral Services LLC strive to build high quality rapport with each of our learners to in turn, produce high quality outcomes. We at Pee-Wee’s want our client’s to WANT US there. ABA therapy can and should be something each of our learners LOOKS FORWARD TO - NOT DREADS.

Pairing will happen during each session at Pee-Wee’s to ensure trust and rapport is not only built BUT MAINTAINED.

Pairing looks like play but it is PLAYING WITH A PURPOSE - that purpose being to make the environment and us as RBTs/BCBAs as fun, safe and productive as possible.

Pairing, when done right, can also help increase the rapport between kiddos and their parents!
